History of Pace University
Founding and Early Years
Pace University was founded in 1906 by two brothers, Homer St. Clair Pace and Charles A. Pace, as a business school called Pace Institute. The school was established in the heart of New York City to provide practical business education to students.
In 1935, Pace Institute was incorporated as a non-profit institution of higher education in New York State. During this time, Pace applied for a provisional charter as a corporation by the state of New York to provide instruction on both the secondary and primary levels. The provisional charter was granted on May 17, 1935.
Recent Developments
Over the years, Pace University has expanded its academic offerings and now offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in various fields. The university has three campuses in New York: Pace University in New York City, Pace University in Pleasantville, and Pace Law in White Plains.
Pace University is home to one of the largest internship programs of any college in the New York metropolitan area.
